Higgs and Diego Evans were based at Sweetings Alley and later at the Royal Exchange. C1775-1825. Firm of Robert and Peter Higgs and James Evans. He was called Diego to appeal to the Spanish market. He has watches featured at the Science Museum South Kensington. Bracket clock illustrated Cezsinsky and Webster, also a longcase and bracket clock illustrated in Britten. A bracket clock in the Virginia Museum also signed Higgs and Diego Evans.One of the only makers I can recall that uses a different makers name to appeal to a different market. A lovely collector’s clock.

Finally James Snelling was an eminent clockmaker who was Master of the Clockmaker’s Company in 1736. He was based in Poultry in London. His clocks are located in various museums around the world. He died in 1751. To sum up I do not think you could find a walnut with better veneers. The case is one of the finest around. Colour and patination sublime.

Brass handles to sides of this clock and brass ball feet.Edward White worked closely with Dent. Known for his fine bracket clocks and chronometers.

The scene is a house within a waterfall setting and central tree. Automaton birds tweeting and moving amongst the boughs of leaves and branches in the tree. A drinking bird in the pretend stream and a pretend waterfall all working. The waterwheel also fully working. Inside the base of the dome is a musical box. A real showstopper and collector’s piece.
