Also with finely matted centre, chapter ring and spandrels. Movement striking hours on a single bell. Superb walnut cabinet with caddy top and long trunk door.

An outstanding ‘8-day’ walnut veneered Longcase clock. Rare clock by this eminent clockmaker Thomas Ogden of Halifax. The cabinet of the finest choice walnut veneers. Including dome top to the hood with fretwork beneath. Long trunk door and standing on two plinths.

The dial with polished corners, chapter ring and spandrels. Also with spherical moon to arch, seconds and calendar and finely matted centre. Featuring typical high quality brass beading to the edge of dial. Outstanding decoration to winding and calendar apertures. The movement of the finest quality. Three bells for quarter repeat and single bell for hour strike.

This maker is in my opinion, the finest of all northern clockmakers. Many people think on a par with the finest of all clockmakers.

Outstanding petal shaped white dial grandfather clock. Featuring ‘8-day’ oak Longcase clock C.1770 by Thomas Brown of Birmingham. The dial and mask etc in the form of a flower, a real rare clock. The petals of the iron dial with gold leaf spandrel decoration, seconds and calendar to dial centre.

The fine quality movement striking the hours on a single bell.

The case showing the finest quality design and the oak cabinet of amazing colour and patination. The hood with reeded columns and swan neck pediments with fretwork below. Additionally reeded trunk sides with brass Corinthian Capitals. Wood brickwork to the trunk section, shaped panel to the base. The clock standing on bracket feet.
