Description
A lovely early 19th century oak grandfather clock of ‘8’ day duration but with the rare 3 train quarter striking movement. The backplate being also signed Tomlinson.
The fine square painted dial with 4 painted scenes to the corners and a raised convex dial centre. Featuring subsidiary seconds feature to the dial centre.
The fantastic high quality movement striking the quarters on a peal of bells. This is a rare feature on a country clock. I believe Tomlinson was a top quality maker trained in London.
The lovely oak cabinet of good proportions and of London design. Superb colour and paintination. A fine collector’s clock.
