One special verge 8 day duration arched brass dial bracket clock by Smith & Sons London.

The dial with chapter ring and spandrels and polished silvered and engraved dial centre. Subsidiary strike silent feature to the arch and square calendar date indicator to the dial centre.

Fantastic mahogany veneered cabinet with triple pad to the top with brass edging, brass carrying handle and brass shaped feet. Also lovely brass ‘fish-scale’ frets to the side.

Lovely quality twin fusee movement with stop-work and bell strike. Original crown wheel verge escapement.

Established in 1780 at a site in Clerkenwell, London shown on images, the original business of Smith and Sons became a well-renowned name in clockmaking, especially for large turret clocks for buildings.
