A superb quality arch brass dial Longcase clock. Featuring automaton’8-day’ movement by John Lamborne of Cambridge. The cabinet showing all the typical high quality London case features and of outstanding colour and patination.
The dial with finely matted centre. Also with seconds and calendar. Roman soldiers strike the bell when the clock strikes. Together with makers name engraved to cartouche to the arch.
The 5-pillar movement striking the hours on a single bell. Fantastic quality choice burr walnut veneers. Rise and fall of the pendulum and strike/silent feature. This clock appears to have been chosen for a patent, as it says by the order of the patentee to the dial centre on a placque. A very unusual and collectible clock.
