A fine late 19th century 8 day French carriage clock. Le Roy et Fils produced high quality clocks.

The firm of Leroy et Fils was founded by Bazile Charles Leroy in 1789.He was a clockmaker to the Emperor Napoleon. In addition The Duke of Orleans, The Duke of Bourbon and Princess Pauline. When Bazile Charles Louis died in 1865 his son Louis Leroy took over the running of the business.

Featuring a lovely masked porcelain circular dial. Also signed Le Roy & Fils over an alarm dial. Together within a finely foliate engraved gilt mask.

Fine quality lever balance and striking on two gongs. The backplate numbered and marked with makers marks. Bevelled glass to all case sides.
