A fantastic colour and patination 8 day grand-daughter clock with spring driven three train movement.The lovely quality movement having tune selector to the arch for either Westinster, Whittington or Winchester.The dial also has the option of strike/silent to the three o'clock position.The finely engraved brass dial with separate chapter ring with Roman Numerals and saying to the arch Tempora mutantur nos et mutamur in illis, meaning "Times change, and we change with them".

John Walker of railway clock fame was a fine maker during the 19th and early 20th century.John Walker is listed as working from 68 Cornhill from 1861-75,from 230 Regent Street from 1864-75 and from 76 Strand 1871-75.This delightful example is in a brass bound mahogany case with brass 'pineapple' top finial.The round brass silvered dial engraved with Roman Numerals and the makers name to the dial centre.Strike/silent feature to the 12 o clock position.Lovely quality double fusee movement striking the hours on a single bell.A collector's clock.
