A superb early 18th century burr walnut veneered Longcase clock of '8-day' duration. The dial with chapter ring and spandrels, seconds and calendar, finely matted centre, ringed winding holes and fine 'wheat ear' engraving to the edge of the dial. John Barrow being master of the Clockmakers Company from 1714-17 The movement of very good quality and striking the hours on a single bell. Th cabinet of superb burr walnut veneers, flat top to the hood with fretwork beneath, long trunk door and standing on a single plinth. Fine colour and patination.
