A unusual '8-day' arch brass dial Lacquer Longcase clock of '8-day' duration. Superb cabinet with caddy top long trunk door and 2 plinths, great lacquer work. The movement striking the hours on a single bell. The dial with chapter ring/spandrels, calendar aperture, moonphase with tidal times and a portrait to the arch of Edward Vernon who took Portobello with 6 ships. Mount Vernon in Washington is named after this gentleman I believe. This is a very collectable clock.
