Description:

George Clerke or Clerk was working from 3 Cherry Tree Court in Aldersgate Street, London.He was a well respected maker and was in the Clockmakers Company in 1782,he was summoned to take up a livery position in 1786.He has clocks in famous collections around the world.

This lovely arched brass dial with chapter ring and spandrels, calendar and finely matted centre to the dial and strike silent feature to the arch.

The movement with finely engraved backplate, original verge escapement and quarter striking on two bells feature and hour strike on one bell.

The fantastic flame veneered mahogany cabinet with brass adornments like side frets,carrying handle and brass feet.Nice extra adornments to top of clock and to the front door.A real collector's clock.
