An outstanding and rare '8-day' pull quarter repeat spherical moon walnut veneered Longcase clock by this eminent clockmaker. The cabinet of the finest choice walnut veneers, dome top to the hood with fretwork beneath. Long trunk door and standing on two plinths. The dial with polished corners, chapter ring and spandrels, spherical moon to arch, seconds and calendar and finely matted centre. The typical high quality brass beading to the edge of dial and outstanding decoration to winding and calendar apertures. The movement of the finest quality. Three bells for quarter repeat and single bell for hour strike. This maker is in my opinion and that of many others, the finest of all northern clockmakers and many people think on a par with the finest of all clockmakers.
